Hey there! We’re Craig and Yvette and we call bonnie Scotland home.
Craig is a Scot, and Yvette is a Kiwi [New Zealander]. We live in a wee village in Scotland, on the fringes of Edinburgh with our gorgeous wee Red Fox Labrador pup, Angus.
Hey- I’m Yvette! I’m from New Zealand originally but I now live in Scotland. I’m a full time travel blogger at Wayfaring Kiwi and puppy mum to Angus. I moved to Scotland at the start of 2018 after many years of admiring it from afar.
In 2018 I hiked the length of Scotland solo [the Scottish National Trail], and I’ve been on many adventures around Scotland since! My favourite things to do in Scotland include hiking, spending time in nature, trying out new restaurants and pubs, and exploring ancient ruins.
I love all kinds of outdoor activities, including horse riding and snowboarding. I’ve spent 2 years living in Canada in the Canadian Rockies, solo travelled China and surfed in Hawaii. For now my adventures revolve around Scotland- my favourite country in the world!
My goal is to visit every town and village in Scotland, and try every single Scottish whisky.
Hi, I’m Craig. I’ve been bullied into becoming a travel blogger by my wife because I’m marketable in the sense I have a Scottish accent and I’m easily swayed into trying new things.
I’m lucky that I was brought up by two parents who love to travel and see new places. When I was growing up, we used to have a family holiday every year, which means I’ve seen a whole lot of Europe and beyond – all on someone else’s paycheck. Thanks Mum and Dad!
I love living in and exploring Scotland. Being married to Yvette means I get to explore places I know well through someone else’s eyes, and a whole lot of places which are brand new to me too. I work as a professional UAV pilot [drone pilot] meaning I get to see a lot of Scotland – especially off the beaten track, so I’m constantly finding myself in interesting locations, excellent eateries and unique accommodation.
I hope you enjoy our adventures and if you do have any questions or comments, we would both love to hear from you.
Hi, I’m Angus Webster, but my maw and dad call me ‘Angus Nooo!’
I’m a half golden, half fox red labrador. I like chewing everything, exploring our garden and FOOD. Omg I really love food! My maw gave me a slow feeding bowl because I am really good at eating fast, but I like to bark and growl at it because it’s sooo frustrating eating slowly!
When I’m old enough I’m going to explore Scotland with my maw. I also love being up high so I’m really excited to walk up some mountains and see Scotland from above one day.
Hopefully I can inspire other puppies like me to go on adventures around Scotland, and show them cool places to go.
how we met
We met how most modern love stories start- on Tinder. We went out for dinner for our first date and it must have gone well because exactly one year later we got married!
Craig proposed in the woodland near our house when we were out walking one day.
We had a traditional and simple Scottish wedding with close family and friends. You can read about our Scottish wedding [and see pics!] on Yvette’s travel blog.
We both share a love of nature and adventure, combined with a love of food and alcohol. We hope that we can show you a different side of Scotland- our Scotland- on this blog and on our podcast!
